Re: 2017 Virtual Worlds Education Conference

That's sad. Streaming it live was the
point, in SL and online, several years ago. That was the
point. If you're saying you're a bunch of people sitting in a physical room talking about how wonderful virtual worlds are you have crossed into the theater of the absurd.

I think the point of a virtual conference is to hold the conference virtually

2017 Virtual Worlds Education Conference

Kurt Winkelmann
In reply to this post by Kurt Winkelmann
The irony of holding a conference about virtual worlds education in the real world isn't lost on me. We chose this approach because we felt that some important conference activities and interactions are easier for many people to perform and enjoy in person. We hope to combine presentation streaming and in-person activities in future conferences. I will keep everybody posted.

Have a good weekend!

Re: 2017 Virtual Worlds Education Conference

Arieliondotcom
Then you just declared the whole reason for your conference a sham. It was actually BETTER in 2008. That's ridiculous. Pack up and go home. You're irrelevant. Saying "We'll get back to you" is insulting. You've jumped the shark and have proven you missed the opportunity for the disruption caused by virtual presence to bring real change. You're nothing but an echo chamber of people with a pet idea making each other feel important. Any funding by your attendance by government organizations with my tax dollars is misappropriation of funds.
