Getting rid of Mystitool

Juan Melendez
My avatar has Mystitool attached and I want to disactivate it.
I am used to seeing the chats in one location, and am tired of having to look all over the screen to see who is talking to me.
But I can't find a way to uninstall it.
Please help.

Juan, do a search in your inventory for Mystitool.  You can do this by
typing "mystitool" in the white search box at the top of your inventory
window.  Right click on it (it should be highlighted if you are wearing
it), and "detach from yourself"

This is the common procedure to attach and/or detach items worn on your
avatar.

Just an observation...Lisa's instructions are correct, but Mystitool doesn't
have anything to do with where you are seeing your chat.  Perhaps you want
to turn off chat bubbles in Preferences?

Well, you have two choices ..... (1) detach Mystitool or (2)  move the HUD to a different place on your screen. Detaching it is a snap. Find it in your inventory, right click on it, and select "Detach." See?  Easy. Next time you want to use it, find it in your inventory again, right click, and select "Attach as HUD." It will ask you where to attach it, so tell it anywhere except the lower right corner of the screen (since you don't seem to like having it there).

I think it's a different problem, Raven.  Mystitool's HUD defaults to the lower right corner of the screen. If you allow really long chat lines, they bump into the HUD and get covered up. That's why I suggested moving the HUD, if that's a problem.

Right-click on the MystiTool HUd (button) and choose Detach from the menu that appears.

RE: Getting rid of Mystitool

Bray, Michael

While other list members have provided a bunch of cool advice and feedback regarding the Mystitool HUD (including below) don't forget this little reusable tip...

If you want to find an item in your inventory that you are currently wearing (such as the Mystitool HUD) type "(Worn" (including the open parentheses) into the filter box at the top of the inventory panel. This will filter down your inventory to just the items that you are currently wearing (clothing and other attachments, including your Mystitool HUD).

It may seem like a superfluous tip, but it is handy when you can't remember the name of something you are wearing, or when you have a number of copies or similar-named items in your inventory -- cuts through the "clutter". ;-)

Adding the ( to "worn" eliminates the "well worn jeans" but you will
still get things named something like "misc HUD (worn on ..." -- but
still it is indeed a great way to see what you have on.

searching for (worn) does an even better job of eliminating random
bits of names.
