Design: This exhibit consists of a crystal structure illustrating various educational communities connecting and collaborating with the Community Virtual Library (past, present, and future). A "crystal cathedral" concept illustrates the growth of academic learning spaces not limited to physical space and time. Participants will wander the cathedral to view educational examples including photos and machinima.
Theme related: Libraries are highly ordered structures similar to crystals! This exhibit celebrates Second Life's 15th Birthday with a demonstration of virtual world libraries connecting educators and learners over the past decade. Celebrate the advantages SL has given learners through immersion in persistent spaces. Librarians can document and archive the evolution of virtual worlds...growing a virtual crystal cathedral. Thank you, Second Life!
