Speaker Stephen Gasior, Ph.D. , biology instructor at Ball State University, has brought his own students into Second Life over several years for scientific experiences. Stephen founded an OpenSimulator building collaborative, Virtual Islands for Better Education (VIBE). This set of OpenSim grids includes Genome Island, BIOME, BIOME4KIDS, Global Health, Project Alexandria, and Tooth Fairy grids for K-12, undergraduate, and professional degree educational activities.
During his talk about his journey to develop virtual environments for K12 students he will explain how to register to visit his grid. Tours of VIBE will be from 8-10 pm EDT Tuesday night.
